Michael Gagliardo wins his first Majors at Road American Cat Nationals

One of Rossini’s young drivers has been knocking on the door of his first Majors win all season, and we are thrilled to announce that Michael Gagliardo finally fulfilled the promise he has shown, by winning the 2nd race at the CAT Nationals Majors event at Road American this past weekend.

Road America is a superb track with a mix of slow corners, fast sweeping turns and three long 5th gear straights that really test a cars horsepower, especially in Spec Miata. In a deep field comprising pro drivers, multiple Runoffs podium winners, as well as several really fast local drivers, Michael showed his grit and determination in both races.

In Race 1, despite his transponder recording him as crossing the line with an 11/1,000th second win, the time keepers declared him 2nd place behind Danny Bender and ahead of Voytek Burdzy. WOW! So close, Michael could taste the victory, but he was denied. Jason Knuteson finished 4th with Evan Pecore in 5th place.

So, for Race 2 Michael ensured that there would be no need for a photo finish, and decisively pulled away from the field to win the feature race by over 6 seconds ahead of Bender and 10 seconds ahead of Burdzy. Tyler Brown finished 4th and Jason Knuteson was 5th

Michael we are so proud of you, and look forward to more results like this.
