Rossini Driver Danny Steyn Sets Both Poles At 2013 June Sprints, Gets Taken Out While Leading!

Huge congratulations to Danny Steyn for representing our engines as he did at the 2013 June Sprints. Steyn set fastest times in both qualifying sessions for pole position on the grid.

In the race Steyn led the first three laps before being caught by the train comprising Jim Drago, Craig Berry, Erik Stearns and Voytek Burdzy. At the midpoint Steyn got knocked off the track and had to restart in 7th place, but Steyn worked his way back into contention, finally catching the leaders on the last lap.

Steyn moved back into the lead at Turn 5 on the last lap and was pulling away when he ran up on a back marker in the kink. This slowed him up and allowed Berry and Burdzy to catch him on the run to Canada Corner.

In the outbraking contest, both Burdzy and Berry lost control of their cars and spun, and in the process knocked Steyn off the track and he was unable to finish.
