Zach Rubin

Zach started go-karting in 2012 with Hampton Roads Kart Club (HRKC) and Woodbridge Kart Club (WKC). He got to experience tracks such as Summit Point and VIR early on in karting. During 2014, there was a Spec Miata race going on at Summit Point Main while he was participating in an event at Summit Point Shenandoah, and this would be the start of my sports-car racing career.

He really wanted to have close races in a large and competitive field and Spec Miata was the perfect fit for that. His first time driving a car was in the VIR paddock the night before his first HPDE session.

Zach ran in NASA’s HPDE Program and Time Trial program up until 2016, and then in 2017 he acquired his NASA Competition license and began racing in Spec Miata and Teen Mazda Challenge.

In September of this year Zach became the director of Teen Mazda Challenge. He is also apart of Virginia Tech’s Formula SAE team.
